Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Encourage (the “Service”), operated by [Operator](“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Encourage is a social-motivation tool. It helps people post the things they’re putting off and get small, friendly encouragement from others.

Encourage is not medical, mental-health, or any other kind of professional advice. It is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional, diagnosis, or treatment. Content posted by other users is their own and does not reflect any clinical relationship unless you and that person already have one offline. If you’re in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line (in the US, call or text 988).

You must be at least [18] years old to use Encourage. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you.

• You’re responsible for your account and anything done through it. Keep your login credentials secure.
• One person per account. Don’t share accounts, and don’t impersonate someone else.
• Notify us promptly at hello@encourage.today if you suspect unauthorized access.

You keep ownership of everything you post (tasks, messages, display name, emoji reactions — collectively, “Your Content”). By posting Your Content on Encourage, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit it for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you and the members you’ve chosen to share it with. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where we need to retain it briefly for backups, abuse investigations, or as required by law.

You’re responsible for Your Content. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share.

Don’t use Encourage to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or harm other members.
• Post content that is illegal, defamatory, deceptive, hateful, or violates anyone’s intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Post protected health information (see the Privacy Policy) or other highly sensitive information about yourself or others.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Try to access accounts, data, or systems you’re not authorized to access, or interfere with the Service’s operation (scraping, automation against other users, probing for vulnerabilities without permission, etc.).
• Use the Service for commercial solicitation or spam.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Groups inside Encourage are small spaces where members decide who joins. Group moderators can approve or remove members and delete content within their group. We may step in if a group’s behavior violates these Terms.

Encourage integrates with Google (for sign-in and Google Meet). Your use of those services is governed by Google’s terms and privacy policies, not ours. We’re not responsible for content or conduct on external services you reach through links on Encourage.

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you’ve violated these Terms, or if we need to for legal, security, or technical reasons. You can stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by emailing us.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO $100 USD.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [State] for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.

If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where feasible, notify you by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
